Jackie’s journey: As a music teacher, Jackie was expanding her number of private pupils at home to teach the cello. She needed a space for her piano and plenty room for her pupils. Building in the back garden meant she could separate her business from her home and people could enter the garden room music studio without having to go through the house. Having been to a number of exhibitions, none of the garden buildings on sale actually met her needs.
Her brief: She wanted to maximise on space and build to the permitted allowance of 30 sqm without needing planning permission, it needed to have both a decent storage cupboard and a toilet for the pupils.
